HEXio Founder Leads First Ultra Low Power Hardware Project for Skymind in Agritech, Installed at Kulim Farm

In an exciting development for Agritech innovation, HEXio’s founder has led the Skymind Ultra Low Power Hardware Project, a cutting-edge initiative designed to optimize farming operations through advanced AIoT technologies. This project is set to be installed on a farm in Kulim, marking a significant step forward in smart agriculture.

Overview of the Project:

This project aims to leverage ultra-low power technology to collect and monitor critical environmental data on the farm in real-time. The system is powered by blupulse, an advanced IoT platform that integrates various sensors to track key parameters such as humidity, salinity, temperature, sunlight levels, and battery health. The real-time dashboard, as showcased in the attached snapshot, presents comprehensive data, allowing for actionable insights to be taken for better crop management.

Key Features Monitored in Real-Time:

  • Humidity: Monitoring humidity levels to ensure optimal conditions for crop growth.
  • Salinity: Tracking soil salinity to prevent nutrient imbalance and protect crops from salinity stress.
  • Temperature: Continuous temperature monitoring to optimize planting schedules and mitigate heat stress.
  • Sunlight Levels: Capturing sunlight exposure to ensure crops receive adequate energy for photosynthesis.
  • Power Efficiency: The ultra-low power hardware features real-time tracking of battery health, with voltage readings for both V3 and V15 battery levels, ensuring long-term sustainability of the solution.

The dashboard in the snapshot shows how bluPulse tracks all these critical parameters, delivering real-time insights into environmental conditions on the farm. The data points, such as humidity levels (which are currently low), temperature stability, and salinity fluctuations, all contribute to making smart, data-driven farming decisions.

A Game-Changer for Agritech

The deployment of this technology is poised to revolutionize farming by providing farmers in Kulim with a tool that can enhance productivity, improve resource use, and ensure better overall crop health. The ultra-low power nature of the hardware ensures that the solution is cost-effective and sustainable, operating efficiently for extended periods without requiring significant energy resources.

Looking Forward

As this project takes off, it is expected to serve as a model for future Agritech solutions, not only in Malaysia but across the region. Skymind, in collaboration with HEXio, is excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with smart farming technology. With the success of this installation in Kulim, we look forward to expanding this technology to other agricultural hubs and contributing to a more sustainable, tech-driven future for farming.
